So I just started to study for the DAT. I'm currently using Chad's videos from coursesaver, cliff's AP bio complemented with Feralis Notes, DAT Bootcamp for practice and PAT, and I'm also taking Dr. Romano's course which starts next wednesday. I'm reading chapter 1 of Cliff's right now and rewording Feralis notes to help me understand and memorize. I'm also doing Chad's videos (gone through couple sub sections), and used DAT Bootcamp for PAT and RC. Should I still follow Ari's study guide because that's what I'm doing right now since I don't want to waste anytime or should I stop and wait until class starts and then manipulate the schedule the best of my ability?

P.S. A week into PAT generators, I took my first practice pat test and got a 17 🙁. The he angle ranking caught me off guard since I usually look at the last and first angles based on the answers from the generators, but the practice test mixed them up. Also, I suck at pattern folding and keyhole. Any suggestions for these parts.

In addition, my rc is just horribad. I read too damn slow and I'm thrown off track sometimes I have no idea why. I keep reading the same sentence over and over again. I just can't seem to finish any passage or I would spend too much time on the first one and that screws me over. Got less than a 14 on this 🙁. Any suggestions because there's only 5 practice exams on bootcamp and I'm on a tight budget. I want to utilize this to the best of my abilities instead of cheating my brain into taking the tests over and over again. Thanks!

Just take a deep breathe and carry on. That's about how I started, after 5-6 weeks I was getting 27-30's on the bootcamp exams and spending 1/10 the time on working through the destroyer math sections. It sounds like you're doing everything right, just give it a couple weeks and I'm sure your confidence will escalate.

If you need more RC practice you can buy 10 more practice exams for $50 bucks from QVault.

For PAT, keep doing practice questions and keep track of the types of errors you are making (even if you need to start logging screenshots). Strategy may seem cumbersome, but it will help. In time, you will be able to recognize a consistent pattern in how you decode information that is presented to you. At that point, you'll be able to rectify how you look at the problem.

Secondly, it sounds like you are trying to decode individuals words and not looking at the bigger picture. Start bigger, by examining paragraphs. What is this paragraph about, why is it important? then apply strategy to passage. At the very least, you need to change something because your strategy doesn't work. Admitting it to yourself is the first step, which is the hardest. Now get over it quick and keep moving. Remember words are used to build ideas. Understand the idea and your past the stage of analyzing individuals words.
