Question about steampunk goggles

I've been thinking of buying or making a pair of steam punk goggles for a while now. I'm sort of bored with wearing the same glasses. There are even a couple of websites that sell prescription ones; do you think the quality would be acceptable for day to day use?

Did this forum just get steampunk'd? If so, it's at least more interesting than a lot of the fighting and complaining.
