So I am in Bio 2 right now.

Lectures consist of 2 chapters each week. The information is presented to us in a powerpoint of around 75 slides.

How do you guys take notes and study this information.

After the first week of just writing the information into my notebook, all 72 slides, I feel this is not the way to go. I could just read the slides or make flashcards. Copying all the information was a waste of time (~2.5 hours)

I am sure some of you have had a class like this. How would you attack it. Oh and the book is pretty much useless and we do no work out of it. All the information we need is in the slides.

Thanks!

I usually print the slides and write on them during lecture. I then rewrite my notes and sometimes if it's challenging material I'll compose my own test and take it.

Print the slides 3 slides to a page which puts lines for notes on the right side of the page and take notes there, the slides are big enough to see everything and you don't have to copy everything down again.

The professor doesn't post the slides until after lecture, for whatever reason.

Makes it very difficult because no way I am writing everything down during lecture. To much info and I would rather sit and absorb as much as I can. Maybe I will ask her if she can post them before lecture.

For my bio class I wrote out all the important information on notecards then studied them everyday. I ended up with like 200 notecards but it worked very well for me.
