so I got a call and an email from a summer research program at UMichigan. The postdoc of the lab contacted me and told me that he will interview me to ask me questions about my research capabilities, application etc. etc.

so should I treat this interview as seriously as possible like a medical school interview?
Since I got a call, does this mean that I am accepted to the program for sure and I don't have to worry about studying for MCAT this summer?

Thank you!

Maybe no one has answered because they are as confused by your post as I am. Why would an interview for a lab position be anything like a medical school admissions interview beyond basic personality questions? And why would getting a summer research assistant position mean that you wouldn't take the MCAT? Perhaps you mean you won't be taking the MCAT because this lab assistant position may sway you toward grad school instead? Really I'm just grasping at straws here. Also, in my experience, an interview almost never means that you already got the job/spot.

Let's use some common sense here. If it's something you're genuinely interested in, do you think you should take it seriously? And if you're still interviewing for the program, do you think you're "automatically accepted?"

What you said doesn't make much sense.
