I'm taking an EMT class to help prep for med school. There is a tremendous amount of material (probably nothing compared to med school, but hey). Anyways...I take tests sometimes and my mind literatlly stalls on certain questions...the most frustrating part is they are stupid, simple questions. :meanie:

Is there any techniques you guys use when taking your tests to pull info from the dark recesses of the brain that aren't firing on certain questions? I do something kind of stupid, but it doesn't really work. I start asking myself, does it start with an "A"...no...does it start with a a "B"...no...it has worked here and there in the past.

Any advice? Eat more fish? I infuriates me when I miss stupid questions and end up with 90s when I should be perfect on these tests 😡

Well, good for you that even though you "stall" on certain questions you are still able to get 90's. I wish that happened to me!

I think the obvious answer is to NOT waste time on those Q's and move on to the ones you can answer, and when you're done with the exam go back and work on the difficult ones. GL.

I do that too...and trust me...when you go back to the ones you know you know...it's like salt, lemon juice, and acid poured into an open wound:meanie:

Maybe I should change the way I store the information in my head to begin with....I don't use any type of associative measures because that feels like cheating...it also adds to the recall time, because you have to work through it in your head rather than directly knowing the answer...

I wish I had a robot brain 🙁
