I'm a current D1, thinking about possibly pursuing a speciality down the line. Do you guys think that the ADAT will actually be taken seriously by the time I'm applying in 2.5-3 years?

From what I've heard and read, hardly anyone used it for last application cycle. I think they are still working out the kinks..?

I've spoken to a few program directors at a conference and unfortunately it seems as though the ADAT is definitely here to stay. They've been trying to create a better way of evaluating applicants for some time now and with the switch of NBDE to pass/fail, this is the best solution they came up with. Sucks for us.. I think by your time it'll probably be a standard requirement in the application process. I'm planning on taking it myself when the time comes so im in the same boat. Ask your head of admission, they can tell you whats going on
