Question about the email from UCSF..

I just got an email that UCSF determined that I am eligible to submit the supplemental application..

Does this happen to everybody ?

or just chosen ones..?


If this is for everyone, then I wouldn't do this thing since my DAT score is 18...( everything else is super good though..)


is this good sign ? what do you guys think....?

Everyone who meets the bare minimum requirements.

- From CA: GPA (both science and overall) >2.70
Not from CA: GPA (both science and overall) >3.0

- No section on the DAT <17

- Good academic standing

- Demonstrates evidence completing, or will complete, pre-reqs prior to matriculation


If the above four apply to you, then you get a supplemental app.

I don't understand why you wouldn't do it. You paid the money to submit your application to UCSF through AADSAS. Why wouldn't you want to complete the secondary as well?

it needs extra money and I didn't know that I got that bad DAT score ...

also, I am too busy with school now and that requires a lot of writings...

I don't know man.... I was frustrated when I had my DAT score and my dream seemed like it went away....

but I got the email from UCSF and I am not that happy because I am afraid to feel sad again that UCSF just send this email to everybody for the money and just tell me later that I am rejected.. very easily...you know... they can just send me email and say " no interview" but I got hurt for that..


If I just get over the minimum requirement and that's they reason UCSF sent me an email for that automatically, then I would not want to do it... ( I don't have enough money for it either , I need to borrow from friend.)

but if they liked me and that's the reason that they sent me an email.. then I would want to try..

You will never know until you hit that submit button and wait it out. I know it sucks to have a school that takes your money and send you a rejection. I had 5 schools that did that to me. All were state schools except 1 (roseman). Application process is a gamble. Its your future, dont let it haunt you with "What ifs". You will never know until you actually try and do it.
