So I submitted my AACOMAS, and in the MCAT section I posted my mcat score (24N), but I also noted that I planned to take the MCAT in Jan 2010.

Do you think that schools will hold off giving me a secondary until I get my Jan 2010 scores? Will they also hold off giving me an interview until I get my new scores?

Anyone in the same boat as me? Do you think I should just not post that I am planning to retake the mcat?

Most schools do not screen their secondaries or have very low minimum requirements, so you will receive them with your current score. Some schools may offer you an interview even before you get your second MCAT scores back. Other schools might choose to wait. I don't know what your GPA is, so I can't advise one way or the other if you should not tell them about your retake.

I'm in the same boat. I am currently down in Guadalajara, Mexico in my first semester at a med school. Unfortunatley, I have to go back home to seek treatment for a skull base tumor that I have. I decided to apply to DO schools in hope of getting accepted for next year. I'd rather go to school in the US where I can receive proper treatment and be close to my doctors and family. I only took the MCAT once without studying for it and got a 20. I know if I study my ass off I can def pull up my grade by January. I really hope we get some interviews before taking the January MCAT to explain ourselves. If not I hope there are enough seats left for us after we get our January scores back. Has anyone ever gotten an interview with a low MCAT score posted and plans for a January MCAT? Good luck everyone.
