Hi all,

I took my DAT on July 16 and have submitted my AADSAS application on the 31st. That being said, I have submitted the "secondaries" and paid all the supplements for the 11 schools I am applying to already. Currently, schools have everything on file (or so I think...) but cannot fully process my application until my LOE/letters of evaluation are in.

Here is the problem:
I am getting a committee letter written, and they required that I have 4 faculty members submit a recommendation to them before the committee/PAC begins writing/uploading a committee letter onto my AADSAS. I had 3 faculty letters in since June/July, but my last recommender JUST submitted her recommendation yesterday, Aug 18. Now, I believe my school's committee will take ~1 month to write the committee letter and submit it... which means my application won't be really complete until mid-September at the latest.

How badly would this affect my chances? I am applying to a lot of competitive schools.
For background info, my cGPA is a 3.55 and my sci GPA is a 3.35 (not so high.. unfortunately I slacked off during my freshman year). However, my GPA has increased from a 3.1 to a 3.55 over the course of ~2 years.

My DAT scores are a 26TS and 26AA and 21 PAT (which I'm hoping will help heavily especially due to the delay in submission). I have extracurriculars in participating as an EMT for my school's on-campus EMS, ~100 hours of OMF shadowing, and different participations in organizations on campus + leadership roles (no research however).

I was just wondering just how much my chances would be affected since I know most people already had their apps in and processed around June-July... but mine won't be fully ready (only LOE is missing) until the middle of September at the very latest.

Thanks all!

Probably should just wait till next year since your DAT isn't good enough.

You only have a slightly below avg gpa and an incredible DAT score. I wouldn't worry.

Some schools won't process your app until that letter is submitted. You can submit one letter and a committee letter, so why not send in another letter and have that just in file.

Not exactly what you're asking, but just to share: I asked someone on the admissions committee at VCU about a similar scenario for next year. Based on my schedule, I could complete my application in June 2015, but I could have a more complete application done at the end of August 2015 (another letter potentially, more prereqs done, etc.). She told me that, personally -- even though the first round of interview invites might have already gone out by that time -- she'd prefer the more complete, later application.

Ah I see - Thanks all for your input.

I'm just curious though - it seems that this scenario is "complete" vs "more complete" in terms of having extra supplements that can help your application. My question regards just the "incomplete" vs "complete" scenario since the LOE from my school's committee is required for my AADSAS application to be complete. I was thus wondering if missing the LOE only (having everything else complete) would be a huge factor in the rolling process.
