question about UCSF secondary

are they very picky about who they invite to fill this out or does everyone generally get one?

I thought as long as you fit their min GPA requirement you'll get one.

Everytime i hear/see the words "UCSF secondary" i cringe thinking about that tedious secondary app...

No not everyone gets one, UCSF is not an easy school to get an interview from, they do care about sec application and other parts of the application, for example research, in addition to GPA, i know many who had the GPA but did not get an interview, I myself did get an interview but withdrew my application after i got into UOP , I did spend some time on their sec app, since they can be picky.

Really? When I spoke to the admission coordinator last year, he said as long as the applicant fits the min GPA requirement, he will receive a sec application invite.

nope, i myself applied twice before i got in, first year had the GPA but i was denied the sec app, never bothered to ask why, but the sec year got the sec app.

That's weird. I remember reading on their website that as long as you have a 3.0 GPA (out of state) and a 2.7 (in state) then you'll get a secondary.

You know that the OP is asking about secondary app, not interview invite.
They send the secondary to whomever meets their reqiorement. They pointed it out in the email they send me requesting to fill out the secondary saying that I meet their requirement and eligible to fill out their painfull secondary. So many people get their secondary, but may not get the interview.
