question about volunteering resume

So I want to volunteer at the children's hospital.. and this is what she wants from me....

Please send me a copy of your resume highlighting your interest in volunteering with children with special needs and how this fits into your life and give me an idea of your availability for volunteering

What type of resume do I send here? Im kind of confused on how to format this and all... input appreciated

Hahaha... wow. I think it might be best not to follow what she is saying literally, but to simply write a cover letter (in addition to your resume) stating your related interests and why you want to volunteer there, and how your previous experiences have made you better suited for the job.

Then attach another nice file with your hours of availability, or simply put it in the original email.

I think the important thing in this case is getting the information across... not trying to write a resume with all of that non-resume stuff in it.

Since you're presumably a student, a copy of your CV would be appropriate. Otherwise, your job resume will probably be fine. Volunteer services directors aren't exactly litching to turn people away. As long as you're not overbearingly obnoxious and can pass a background check, you should be fine.
