OK so I applied to Wake Forest and was told in October I am in the second interview group and to recheck after the first of the year. The woman said then I would be able to get more information and sounded fairly optimistic. I called today and they said there is no change in my status and they may not get to me at all. I am somewhat disappointed because I really like their program.
Onto the question: is it worth it to send a letter of intent/additional letters of rec/update on any additional research? Is anyone familiar with the program and knows what might/if I still can push myself over the edge? I am working full time and not in classes so I have no new grades to give them.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like they are just trying to be "nice" by not telling you that you aren't getting an interview.
Do you have any other interviews/acceptances?

It wouldn't hurt to send a letter, but I think these usually don't do much good unless you have something new and compelling to talk about.

I have been accepted at two schools and am waitlisted at a third. I just really enjoyed their program. Plus it would be nice to know I could get a few more options before the end of this process. But it may just be me being unrealistic.
Thank you for the reply.

Definitely send the letter if you are really interested and call again in a week or so. They are more likely to interview you if you show interest beyond the application.
