Question about when to send in apps and take DAT.

Okay just to fine tune my plan. I am a senior that was supposed ot be graduating last month be4 I decided to go to Dental School. I had bio I under my belt and took Chem 1 last semester. now las tmonth Summer I I finished Chem II, and am now taking BIO II summer session 2. Now in the fall of '05 (this year) I am taking Orgo I, and Spring '06 orgo 2. Now here is my plan:

I plan to send out my applications in may of '06, and take my DAT at the end of august. (will spend all summer studying like crazy). and then in fall 06 and spring 07 finish physics while Im havin gmy accpetance rolling in 🙂

Now here is my question, when I send out my app in may of next year, I wont have any grade for Orgo 2 yet! But I will have the grade for orgo 2 before I take the DAT... So what should I do? Will it get updated automatically or its okay not to include it? Im worried because Iw old be already applying without a year of physics... I have a 3.5 right now and Recieved 2 A's in Chemistry and A- in Bio, but also recieved a C- in calculus (freshman year) and an A in Stat. So what do you guys think? Thanks ofr your time and sorry about the long post.

Well, I think you already have a good idea about what you are doing. My advice would be to wait until your organic chemistry grade comes in (june-ish) unless you are taking it over the summer. Anyway, Your gpa is fine... if you get an A in Ochem 1 and then do well on the DAT... it wont matter if you have your Ochem 2 grade. Apply in may... dont worry about anything else except doing well on the DAT. Good luck.

I agree. You won't be at a disadvantage if you apply in June versus May as you'll still be plenty early. Schools won't consider your application complete until your DAT scores are received, and that means August-ish by your timetable, and thus having your application in June when your Orgo II grades are in makes better sense then having to submit your grades and wait for AADSAS to make the necessary changes. I see sounds good. Question about the status of the app though. I thought the app is complete by AASDAS even though I dont have my DAT scores and then when I get my scores it should be approved right away or something? Do I have any of tihs correct? Reason I ask is because that the reason I am applying in june... and taking dat late agust early sept. Because if it is the same then I can just wait until I tak emy dats and send out the application then?
