I've searched for this and I've been confused for a month about these two questions.
My university goes on a semester system calling it Fall and Winter as the two semesters. (Fall and Spring on the app).
Now here is where it gets screwy. We have a Spring Semester and a Summer Semester after those two main semesters if you want to take extra classes. They are shortened and condensed classes that are much faster paced.
Here's the first question: It wouldn't be a problem since I've always taken just one of those two semesters. However, between my second and third year I took Orgo I in the Spring Semester and Orgo II in the Summer. How do I differentiate between the two semesters? As of now they are both grouped under the "Summer Session (Summer)" term. There's also the "Mini Semester (Winter/Spring)" but I have no idea what the hell Winter/Spring has to do with anything.
Here's the second question: Since I've taken more credits than most students per semester and then took the summer sessions, I advanced in class standing from Junior to Senior after my first semester of my third year. So I was a Senior in between the Fall and Winter semesters. Should I advance my standing after that 1st term and start a new standing in the 2nd term? I would think that being consistent with average credits would make more sense for each school year and just starting the new school year and standing during the summer sessions as they recommend.
Edit: To add, I finished 99 credits after finishing that first term and therefore advanced standing from Junior to Senior for the next term.
