Hey guys... I am a recent graduate with a B.S. in Biology. I am currently enrolled in the next upcoming academic year at my same undergrad University in a M.S. program in Biotechnology. I have always aspired to be a physician, always keeping in mind that I was very interested in becoming an optometrist. I feel that optometry just "fits" better for me.

My issue is... Although the application opens July 1, I haven't really started it yet, nor have I scheduled to take the OAT. My remedy to this is I thought I might be able to get my application in, with letters, transcripts, SAT scores, etc. The only problem is that I want to take at least 3 months to study for the OAT before taking it. This leaves me taking the OAT sometime in September...which means I would probably miss the first round of evaluations and reviews by the admissions boards.

Is it a good idea for me to do this? Possible to study in a shorter period? Keep in mind that when the fall semester starts I will be taking graduate courses as well...but they are night classes so I will have days to study...

My undergraduate credentials I think are ok... 3.69 overall GPA with 3.8 in major studies. Nonetheless I will have both a B.S. and be in the midst of a M.S. during the application process. What are my options here any ideas?
