Assuming no linkage, how many different kinds of gametes can be produced by an organism with the genotype AaBbcc?

The answer is 4. I thought we have to use a formula 2^n and that would give us 8. Is the answer 4 because "c" is homozygous recessive?

Also, if the same question would ask and give AaBbCc, then would using formula 2^n be appropriate and the answer would be 8?

If you draw out the possibilities, you'll see it better.

Aa --> can give A or a (2 possibilities)
Bb --> can give B or b (2 possibilities)
cc --> can give only c (1 possibility)

2*2*1 = 4
