Does anyone know if schools normally send out a rejection letter/e-mail if they don't want to interview you? OR, do they just leave people wondering what happened?

Most of my rejections were via email sent through the ERAS server.
Some programs didn't even respond, but nothing says you can't call to
"check the status of my application." Although, if they aren't knocking on your door after a while, don't get your heart set on them!
