When interviewing is it still mandatory to have a dark (blue or black) suit, or is that outdated advice?
I have a nice tan suit.
What did you guys see while interviewing out there?

Mostly black and blue but there were some unique colors as well.

I wore a neon green sport coat to most of my interviews.

From what I remember, most of the guys wore dark colored suits, though like Legend said, there were some who strayed from that. As long as you don't go overboard, you should be fine.

I'll echo what everyone else said, but here's a really good way (I think) to look at the interview attire issue.

Basically, you don't want the adcom to remember you as "the guy/girl who wore X". You want to be remembered for what you said, rather than what you wore. As long as you look professional, this shouldn't be a problem.

Everyone looked the same: black or navy blue.

I wore a tan suit. I was actually applauded by Yale's admission staff for not wearing black or navy blue. I always felt a little bit better not looking like everyone else (especially since a group of girls wearing blue or black ends up looking a lot like a group of flight attendants), but if you're going to feel strange standing out, stick with the standard. I also had a grey suit with a pink shirt, but I only busted that out on the west coast!

How did you do at Yale Ia9s?
(I'm thinking that I might go with the tan suit.)

Speaking of Yale, during my interview, Mr. Silverman did an informal poll of the applicants to see if people wanted the dress on the interview day to be less formal, like business casual or something. I have no idea if anything ever came of it, but I was just reminded of it by all this talk of Yale.

Btw, I wore a black suit, and was rejected, so DON'T wear a black suit.
