Hi it seems like most people felt like the genetics and molecular bio was harder and much more then expected. What would you suggest to better prepare for those sections, i am taking the august mcat.

I am taking Kaplan, did they teach you enough genetics and molecular bio or would you suggest to learn more then what they teach.

Also i was thinking of reading genetic articles to get familiar with reading through the passages. I don't plan on understanding all the deatils but just to get a general idea of the topic. Thanks for your input.

Is it just me, or does the thought of the April MCAT just bring a blank? Did I even take that test?

In all honesty, I am sure the questions presented were reasonable, and if it was overly difficult, AMCAS wont make the gen/mb part as hard this time around. It is stuff you learned in your intro bio class, and you should have it in your textbook (provided it is relatively new).

basupran, i know what you mean...everyone's talking about a section here and this passage there, and i'm like...test? did i take a test? all i can remember are vague mixed feelings of despair and elation.

but about the molec bio and genetics, i think there was quite a bit, but i don't remember it being particularly hard...i've had gen bio and cell bio, nothing too deep, and i think i did fine. kaplan's material should be just fine, uthopeful. reading articles can never hurt though.
