Do you accrue vacation time? How much per year?

Working 70+ and paid for 80 or not?

We currently get 40hrs/year but want to see if we could justify getting more.

Work 70 get paid for 80 plus quarterly @$2500 night-differential bonuses.

Accrue 8 hours vacation every 2 weeks.

I'm just starting working (seven-12s) and I get about 160 hours. If you have a considerable amount of experience, I'd think that only 40 hours a year would be criminal.

Yeap, working 70, getting paid for 80.
Accrue 120 hours of cto a year.
8% shift differential starting from 1530 for afternoon.

The whole 7 on/7 off thing sounds pretty sweet. Are these positions tough to come by? I don't imagine many pharmacists want to work 3rd shift, but I know that my hospital has a grand total of 2 pharmacists working 3rd.

Forgive my ignorance, but is this a hospital-only thing? What do 24-hour Walgreen's do?

Night pharmacists at Walgreens do 7 on and 7 off. In my market, there is a floating night pharmacist.

Technically we work 77 get paid for 80, however in reality we are salaried and allowed to come in late so it is around 70 paid 80. i get about 180 hours pto per year. We also do get a differential

Anyone know what CVS pays their over nights in regards to regular time pharms? A few years back I think I remember it being roughly $5 more/hr. Still the same?

They get some sort of differential, but I heard it doesn't start until after midnight (a recent change).

From what I have been told by several pharmacists, the 70hr/80hr pay and shift differential are great, but after some, the 3rd shift gets old and messes up many folks sleep cycle. Not to mention one misses alot if you have a family, etc.

So, like everything, it has pro and con.

I got offered a position from 4PM to 2AM but turned it down because of the shift time and the fact I still made ~20K more at my current position.
