Hi I am a student currently attending UofT and have applied to a variety of schools in the US and in Canada. I wrote my DATs in Nov of 2007 and did not receive my mark till mid-December. I have applied to UPENN, Columbia, Tufts, Temple and NYU. I officially summited my AADSAS application early December. I have a AADSAS GPA of 3.96 and a 23AA on the cDAT.

I haven't received any response from any of the schools in the US. I know I applied late but I don't know if it would of really helped if I applied earlier since my DAT scores wouldn't of been available from the schools to review. I guess I am just wondering if there are any other Canadians that have applied late and heard back from any schools in the US yet?

You're probably late for US schools as most acceptances are sent out in December. I applied early, but I know people who submitted in August, and ended up getting interviews for February... so outlook doesn't look so good.

It is quite late, but a friend of mine applied to Upenn last year around November, got an invite for Feb and was accepted. So, you never know. Your scores are certainly good enough for all the schools you've applied to.

Thanks for the hope 🙂
I just don't think there was anything I can do .. since I wrote my dats in nov and my scores were not release till december.

I guess all I can do is hope for a February interview ... or of course get accepted into UofT 🙂

Any other Canadians hear no word from our American friends?
I am scared I don't know if hearing nothing is good or bad. Cause a few of my friends have received rejection letters ... so I guess I am hoping that the no response means they are still considering me LOL

I've received 4 interview invites to date, but I applied last May.

Good luck!

Same here!! I guess you read in the other thread bout me saying the same thing!! I know how u feel!! Its pretty nerve wrecking at the least..
But you have really great scores. Im sure ull get U of T
Good look and keep the hope alive

I too am a canadian who never heard anything. However, you have to stay in there and keep trying. I applied after third and forth year, never got accepted. Finally, I am taking a year off this year and received 6 interviews to the states! I have been accepted to Detroit Mercy, and will be attending there this fall.

So just hang in there, because I went from getting no interviews in the states for 2 years, to getting 6 interviews the following year. They are so random !!!!!

By the way, you have great scores, but if you want to get accepted, your selection of schools to apply to was poor. UPenn and Columbia are Ivey league, so they are so hard to get accepted to, especially as a Canadian. Also, Tufts, Temple and NYU are no walk in the park either due to their strong clinical programs. To be honest, at this stage in the game, NYU and Temple are probably your only shots left. The others fill up their classes pretty early, but you may get lucky and get an interview for the waitlist and get in. Also, many schools rank their waitlist. So if you are on one, you should be ranked pretty high with your scores.

But with your scores, you should have a good shot in Canada, and for sure lock up a place in the states next year if you apply early.....

You have great stats. Im sure you will get multiple canadian interviews and get accepted. Youll save almost 350 400 thousand dollars by staying in canada if you can. What canadian schools did you apply to?

You have great stats and hence stand a great chance at Canadian schools just like everybody else before me has been telling you. As for American schools, I think your choice of schools was ok; you went for private schools for the most part which was good. In the event that you have to reapply to the States next cycle, consider adding perhaps 3-4 more schools in there. Look into Boston, Pittsburg, Detroit Mercy and Case in addition to the schools which you have already applied to. Best of luck! You're a little late this cycle but anything can still happen...

May I ask why you turned down your UBC interview?

I applied to western, ubc and uoft

I turned down the UBC interview because the interview was so early. If I got accepted I would have to put down a 8xxx deposit and wouldn't even of heard from UofT yet. Also my parents rather have me go to a school in the US thats closer 🙂.

I am in sort of the same situation as you are! I am from vancouver~ and I just did my first canadian dat last nov. I recently have received interviews from NYU and Columbia and my stats are similar but not quite good as yours! so don't give up! You should hear from them shortly.

but i haven't got anything from Tufts and USC.... they are slow....
