No way dude. You'll just have to pay off that BU and GW debt for many years. It may make you more competitive for physical therapy-relevant fields such as PM&R, but it's still early to determine that (DPT degrees have not been around long enough).
Having a DPT is not going to boost your income. My impression has been that attendings don;t really care what you did prior to medical school unless it is of some benefit to them (you have a PhD and ran a lab or something). The real advantage will in being comfortable interacting with patients, good hands on skills, and just having more general medical knowledge than your classmates (you know the different presentations of typical diseases). All that money and you probably will get little use out of it.

While your question is genuine, don't be too naive. Most physicians have some sort of prior experience that serves only to make them more competetive candidates for residency or medical school. I think being a PT put me into the running for a Sports Medicine fellowship, but it doesn't mean I will be any better than the other talented individuals applying. The biggest benefit the PT degree will be is in applying for PM&R residencies. The most important letters you will ever have are DO or MD...you cant practice both PT and Medicine at the same time. I know that having my DO allows me to practice any PT manual technique and bill for it...not that it would be covered in the ED!
