Hi,

I am going to Einstein on Monday, and I am staying with someone whol lives in the east Bronx (Right near 4 train, in University Heights I think). I mapped it on mapquest, and it is only 4.5 mi. to AECOM. How much should a taxi cost me? Any ideas on the best way to get there?

I know it's cold, so I would prefer the taxi if it will be pretty cheap.

Thanks!

Hi Treg,

Chris is right on it - it does depend on the traffic. You should be able to get a cab for no more than $8 ($10 w/ tip). This will most likely be a private cab company (try to identify one before you go, check the yellow pages or ask the person you're staying with). Take into account that mornings are high-traffic times in terms of being able to get a cab, so make sure that you have some alternatives.

Yellow cabs don't truly exist in the Bronx unless they're dropping somene off from the airport (most cabbies live in Queens and very few know anything outside of Manhattan and getting from there to the airports and vice versa). If you're feeling up to it and you don't have to be at the school too early, I would also recommend public transportation. You can find out which buses run near the 4 train and there is sure to be an easy transfer to one of the bus lines that runs right in front of or near the school (i.e., Bx#31, #21, or #8). Best of luck in your interview!
