I was hoping to get a feel for how everyone who has taken part in these types of programs (any post-graduation program) really liked it. What program did you do? How was your experience? Worth it? Would you recommend it?
Also, really wanted to know the information you can't really gather from their sales-pitch web info. Did you get to choose the location that you worked? How time consuming is/was it (how much time did you have to go out on your own and do what you wanted)? How difficult is it to get in?
Looking for any real insight to help me decide if I should bother applying or not. I'm honestly looking to take a year off for largely selfish reasons, just wanting to take a break from school, get some non-school experience, live a little before diving into more school (if I get in, that is), etc. Of course, I'd also like to do something meaningful with some of this time, hence the interest in doing such programs.
