I applied last year and got a secondary from UCSD within one week. I was put on hold for interview and ended up getting a rejection with no interview. 🙁

This year, I never got a secondary and when I contacted the admissions office -their reply was that they decided not to offer me a secondary application.

Has anyone heard of this happening to other reapplicants? The only reason I could think of as to why I took a step backwards is that maybe my ps was not good enough. Everything else either stayed the same or improved (particularly my grad. gpa).😕 😕 😕

its most likely the talent pool has drastically increased this year so even tho you might have improved, maybe the level of the other applicants are just as high or even higher.

Does anyone know when you pretty much have to resign yourself to getting a rejection from a UC that put you on hold?

Feel free to PM me if you have a general idea. Thanks a lot.
