Started by Ames980
I got mine about 2 weeks after I was complete..
Good luck!
Good luck!
Hey Guys Congrats to all of you who have been granted interviews at UNECOM!!! I am a current first year student and Love the school very much. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that it was a couple months before I was granted an interview last year, November 7th to be exact and I was fairly early in the process. Good luck!
9 days, I was very impressed with UNE, if I am accepted it will be a hard choice.
My interview is next tuesday, I'm really excited about it...as far as DO schools it's one of my top three choices. I think they received my letters in mid august, sceondary too. So i think about three weeks. Good luck!

I got an interview invite 2 weeks after I submitted my secondary. UNECOM's online secondary is really nice too, you fill it out and submit it online.

Congratulations!!!

UNE was impressive.
Make sure you stay with a student host. You will find out so much more. Even after all that I was even more impressed. Good environment inside the classroom and outside. Faculty and staff friendly and students really supportive. They also seem to party.. not this weekend since they have exams. I personally love nature and looking forward to 4 seasons and small quite time for me to grow... this is after living in Toronto for 2 years), so UNE is heaven sent. SOme will argue that the small town is difficult.. hmmmm I don't think so. Leonard Cohen sings... "you should live in a big city, but not too long".
BTW.. for those how want a big town, either way you will have to study hard for the first 2 years and have little time to do anything else. Boston is close and a weekend or a day trip is easy to do.
I posted on the interview thread if you want more info on interview. It was the 09/20/04 post.
Best of luck

Hey docbill,
I hope you hear some good news soon. Two quick questions:
1) Did your UVic transcripts give you hassles (ie. did you need to have them assessed?)
2) I am interested in what you had to share about your UNE interview but am having trouble tracking down the above thread you refer to.
Cheers,

Thanks, I hope so too...
UVic transcript should not be a problem. I got all my undergrad work evaluated by World Education System ... since I had some courses from a french University. But when I talked to AACOMAS they said I did not need that.. nor UofT nor UWO. So don't worry about it. Send it to them and see what they say. If you ask them on the phone you will get different answers.
Sorry it was posted on the 21st... first on the the two. Something about the dean coming by and talking to us in the morning.
Location wise it reminded me of UVic. Of course much smaller. But the fact that it is all surrounded by nature was pleasent. For me at least. Also the people there are friendly and helpful. I did not hear a single bad thing from a single person there.

Hey DocBill,
Just wanted to say best of luck with UNECOM! 👍
If you ever find yourself in need of a Boston bar-b-que and a walk around Jamaica pond, drop me a line. We're in Jamaica Plain (about 90 mins from UNECOM).
We're the house where the lawn needs to be mowed because I'm studying bio!
Let us know when the good news breaks!

I know what you mean.. I have pictures.. but they are too big to post.. plus the university might not like me posting pictures without premission. The une website has some nice one. Nothing compared to really thing.
I did get a notification about a complete file and interview invite by email at the same time. If you are unsure you can email them to find out if they are missing anything.
relax and be yourself...our interviews are very mellow. ask a lot of questions, I did, and it gave the interviewers less time to question me...it also promoted more of a discussion atmosphere. One prof, an alumni doc, and a student will be present, not as stressful as it sounds. I dont think the school extends interviews unless they are interested in you...good luck

I got an interview invite yesterday via e-mail...the interview is on November 6th. My file was finally just completed everywhere, so this is my first invite out of my 20 schools. Needless to say, I'm excited and nervous. Now I just have to decide between driving and flying from New Jersey...
docbill said:how long is the drive?
What is cheaper?
Depending on where in Jersey, it's six hours to Boston, and then 90 minutes to Portland, ME.
Ock
I had my interview at UNE last Saturday. I made the whole drive from south jersey in about 6 and a half hours, not bad at all.
I drove from the Jersey Shore and it was about 6 hours, 5.5 hours on the way home 'cause it was on the weekend. The drive is nice and much cheaper then flying.

Hi Vermont, Thanks I don't believe it either. It just happens to work out that way. My second interview but my first choice.
Prepare for the interview, you can't really prepare much. It is really relaxed and friendly. They met 2 weeks after my interview... but that is just because I was in the beginning of the interview batch.
BEST OF LUCK

I submitted my secondaries Aug 10ish and Lisa Lacroix-lane emailed me Aug 31st about an interview. 2 wks after my interview, I was accepted. They are pretty quick and efficient which is great. Best of luck with your application process!!
