Only a few months away from graduation. Just wanted to know if there is any particular paperwork or application one needs to complete before then. Also is there anything needed to be done for the SBOP, particularly in NJ? Got some time off from work so was just curious. Hope everyone has a great holiday!

Probably not yet. You should start getting the money you need for the licensing process (somewhere between $1.3 and $2k for most for both the state and NABP) together as well as a small nest egg if you don't intend to work as much while studying. I would also start getting the paperwork for proving hours in case you're going to a state that requires proof.

Gotcha. How early should I register for the Naplex if I plan to take it a month after graduation?

You can start the registration now, but you don't choose the test date then and there, it doesn't work that way. So, what has to happen is that your school finalizes your transcript (that's probably a week or so at most from graduation). Then you start the application to NABP and the State Board simultaneously. Once NABP accepts your application and your State Board initial is on file, you will get something called an Authority to Test (ATT) that then allows you the schedule the exam. The shortest I've seen is a month, but can take longer depending on when all the documentation gets verified. You get windows to test in depending on the geographic area and proximity to a testing center.

I'd wait until the day after you graduate before registering on nabp. We were told last year that early registration can delay the process, and sure enough a few idiots in my class registered early and their ATT was delayed.

How so?
