Hi everyone. I am in the process of completing the prerequisites for occupational therapy as well as the requirements for my undergrad degree at a community college. I just want to get an advice especially to who had applied to OT schools and to those who were admitted already. I actually got a C in human physiology when I took it last spring and this was one of the requirements for admission to OT. As I was browsing the websites of OT schools now (like CSUDH and SJSU which are my choices) all applicants need to have B or better in each of the prerequisites. Will this affect my admission if I get a C in one of the prerequisites?

I hate to tell you this, but I would retake the course if you could. I went through this with Anatomy and Human Growth. I was flat out told that while a C is not an automatic disqualification at some schools, its very difficult to overcome. Especially since its a physiology course. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I'd rather tell you the truth than sugar coat it.

Same here. I took all 4 parts of my schools anatomy & physiology, and received Cs and C+s. Most schools won't accept those. I had to retake them all again. But the good news is, it's easier in round 2. I just completed the last of them with flat Bs. Really hoping it's worth it!

I would re take them. At one of my interviews I sat down with the OT director of the school and she looked at all my classes and what my grade was. I had a B+ and A- in my A&P classes and she said that was perfect so I would at least aim for a solid B in your pre reqs. It is so daunting to apply and get ready but if you are well rounded and show initiative you will be interviewed and possibly accepted.
