GPA
I have a B.S. in Chemistry from UCLA with a GPA of 3.9. I am a transfer student from community college. I took prerequisites biology, physics, general chemistry, and English at community college. I took organic chemistry and biochemistry at UCLA. I have maintained mostly straight A's at UCLA.

EXPERIENCE
I have around 1,100 hours of dentistry experience. I worked at a community college as a math tutor. I am a private math, chemistry, and physics tutor. I worked in a pharmacy for two years. I have no research experience nor volunteering hours.

I applied in late December last cycle and did not get any interviews. What are my chances for this cycle. Please do not post if you are not sure.

I think you have a very solid chance. Your GPA is good, your dat is slightly above average, but it seems you have quite a bit of experience as well. Your experience may not be very broad, but you do have a lot of hours. Apply to your state school if you have one and I'm sure you'll get in somewhere.

What are these 1100 hours of dental experience doing?

Btw, love the title. I think every question in the "predental" forum is a question from a predental student. Lol!

The crystal ball is temporarily out of order. Can you wait a little longer?

Any idea why they didn't even give you interviews during the last cycle? Did you call any of the schools to find out?
If yes, have you improved the areas schools wanted you to work on?
I mean, one thing most dental schools hate to see is that a previous applicant submits the same exact application from the last cycle again, without putting in any extra effort to make his/her application stronger.
Perhaps, you had lower DAT scores last year?
Anyways, judging by your GPA and DAT scores, you will most likely get some interviews this year.
How many credits did you complete at CC? As you may know, dental schools aren't too crazy about coursework completed at CC, and if you have the majority of your undergrad courses completed at CC, then there's no surprise why you didn't get any interviews last year. If that's the case, try to take some additional classes at UCLA in order to boost the numbers of units completed at that school.

Are you sure NyCzPeter, are you sure? Please do not post if you are not sure!
