Buddy of mine is stressed and asked for my advice. I thought I'd go here and see what you guys have to say.

Last NBME they nook they scored a 232 (2-3 weeks ago). He has a 74% UWorld average, 67th percentile (something like that).

Lately on UWorld (started the "review" part of their studying, did everything, now going back through) - scores have been (for 30-48 question exams) 70%, 75%, 83%, etc.

He'll probably going to start doing some Qbank questions in a few days.

Basically, he wanted to know if he should take another NBME (test is 3 weeks away) or just keep studying and doing questions.

Thoughts?

I've never understood the logic behind the whole "buddy of mine" intro to a thread. I mean if you have a question, just ask it straight up. The damn thing's anonymous to begin with.

The truth is it really doesn't matter.

Your buddy is in good shape. His UWorld scores would predict a ~240ish score and he still has 3 weeks. He is making good progress. If he keeps at it he will do well regardless of the NBME.

For me the NBME's were more of a confidence boost. I never found them very predictive of what subjects I was weak in. They just let me know I was on track towards my goal. I did find them to be very accurate predictors scorewise.
