Do they really ask u stupid questions like what the various GERM LAYERS in the gastrula give rise to during development? Those questions seem rather useless wastes of memorization.

Yes. I got one but it was not a straightforward question like 'what layer does the heart develop from?'. I can't remember the specifics but it had to do with when all three layers first appear.

Yes, and you can expect to find other tid-bits of biology trivia as well. I too had a question asking which germ layer gave rise to (I believe) the nervous system.

I had one such question on my DAT. And yes, a lot of the biology section is memorization.
