My DAT is coming up and my plan is to write most of the formulas and conversions I plan to use for math during the tutorial period. Does any one know if you are allowed to keep one of the original laminated papers past the break?

You can get a new one at the beginning of the break but my understanding is they take the old one each time you ask for a new one.

Call your testing center to ask about their specific policies. Unless someone here works at your testing center, you can't get a definite answer.

you have to return the old ones once you take the break...good appraoch is take 5-7 min break and use the remaining 7-8 min to go back to your test and let the clokc run while you write your formulas etc....just keep an eye on clock as you don't want to get panicked if test resumes automatically.

one more thing about laminated sheets...my test center had light on the cieling right above my head and I had a lot of reflection on my sheet and constantly need to ajust to see what I am writing ....just find a good non refelcting spot in your cubical....

Test shouldn't resume automatically, but don't push the limits.

mine did it gave me a window that your break is done. and there was only one button to click OK...but if have doubts about it then cancel the break may be a minute before it expires and resume your test.

No, what I mean is the timing for the next section doesn't start until you click ok.

Thats exactly what i did. During the tutorial, i began writing all the trig identities, conversions, formulas. It helped tremendously bc u dont want to waste time thinking about those things during the math section.

For me, i didnt have to return any of the sheets during my break. Therefore i always had that one laminated sheet with all the conversions with me the whole time! I only switched out the other sheet the whole time i was testing.

I was planning on doing this as well! Glad to hear it is okay to do. Was wondering if I could do this during the 15 min break after PAT, but I might as well do it earlier while the equations are fresh in my mind.

Yea, you will probably want that 15 min break after PAT to use the bathroom or snack. I highly recommend that you start filling out ur sheet during the tutorial! Good luck to you!!!

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I would ask here....

Are the laminated sheets clear? Non-erasable? Markers are fat/thin?

Laminated sheets are like graph paper.

laminated sheets are erasable.

marker is like a normal sharpie thick. 👍

Although you can erase on them if you use saliva i wouldnt really recommend it. I did this at first and it caused the marker to smudge and not write as well. You're definitely better off just asking for a new sheet, I never had any issues with waiting around or them all up.

Thanks! Can you use the front and back, as in you can't see the writing thru one side? Do they give you 1 sheet at a time? I write big so I'm afraid I'll be asking for a new sheet every 10 minutes.

I got two of them. You could use front and back. If you write small you probably won't have to ask for a new one. I didn't need a new one. But if you do have to ask, they were really quick and attentive at my testing center so it shouldn't be a problem, don't worry!
