I just starting taking my prereqs and I'm looking to take 2 courses per semester,(contemplating the completion of my prereqs in 2yrs), however from what people have told me here I need to take advanced courses especially because of my previous disastrous record. When should I be looking to take the DAT and apply. If I take the advanced courses it will take me an extra year, should I apply while I'm taking the advanced courses or should I apply after those courses which would mean I would have to continue taking courses for a 4th year(2+1 for advanced courses +1 since I'll be applying then)??

Apply before. Its a lengthy application process. Just put those courses as "planned". You'll see that option on the application.

Good luck

Also,

considering your "disasteous" record, make sure you pull ALL A's. You have no more room to goof off. On top of that, you need to get a 20AA minimum. If you pull all A's that should be no problem.

Take the DAT as soon as you finish 1 year bio, g-chem and o-chem. Start studying for the DAT ASAP (start familiarizing now!)
