do we need to know the exact structures of the sugars such as sucrose, glucose, etc. and like Tollen's test/Benedict's test, if it will mutarotate, etc?

thanks

Well, I know you don't need to memorize any structures.
But knowing is something Metarotates is very easy.
If it is a hemiacetal then it does. If that OH group is replaced then it won't.
I think that is all you need to know.
You should know why it will or won't.
Hope that helped.
