Question on retakes (Semester to quarter)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I have an A- in my Biology I quarter course, and I really don't want to re-take it. But since Biology 1 quarter course does not equate to a Biology 1 semester course (since a semester is longer, and you cover more), I have to take the Bio 1 semester course again....how would that work? Would they count separately or would it be a retake?

For reference, a full year of Biology in a semester school would be Biology I and Biology II, whereas in the quarter system the equivalent would be Biology I, II, & III.

If I remember aacomas the right way, you should be able to show that your bio courses were in a quarter system. Therefore, you should be able to take your bio I, II and III without having to retake any class. All of my classes were done on a semester system, so I can't say for absolute certainty, but I am 99.9% sure you put in your aacomas course work as quarters and it automatically does everything for you. I know someone on here will provide the details, but your quarter classes should be just fine.

Right, but I am doing my post-bac in a semester system. So I've only taken Bio I out of the Bio I, II, & III sequence.

In a semester system, I can't skip Bio 1 because the semester version of Bio 1 covers all of bio 1 plus part of bio 2 quarter level. So I'd have to retake it, even though I don't really want/need to. Am I making sense or is it just rambling? 😛

Ah, gotcha! As much as you don't want to hear it, I would contact aacomas to find out for sure. Technically, it might be considered a retake, but I don't know for sure. I think contacting them is the only way to go - sorry 😳
