question on subsidized loans

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
hi, so if your parents make good money, does that mean you would not be eligible for any subsidized loans?

I believe that fafsa doesn't require your parents' income info if you're applying for graduate student loans. However, subsidized Stafford loans are being eliminated as of next summer, so we won't be able to get them.

thanks, so what about the federal unsubsidized loans that are at 6.8%, is it possible to get all our loans from them? because other loans are at 7.9%... does anyone know what the max is for the 6.8%?

The direct stafford loan at 6.8% interest has a max of $47,167 for 12 months is what the financial aid sheet from my school said. Anything after that, we have to use the 7.9% direct grad plus loan.

Is it still possible to get subsidized loans for dental school this year as long as we fill out the FAFSA before July 1, 2012? (I hear it ends after that)

I don't think it matters when we fill out the FAFSA but when the money actually gets disbursed. In this case, all of us wouldn't get aid until at least summer 2012 and that's when it ends so we don't get any subsidized loans.
