I did not apply to UIC, but it was interesting to note that those who do apply for their MD/PhD will be treated as "residents" of Illinois?

Just curious if this is true.

I'm applying to the MD/PhD program at UIUC, and yes its true.

However, in the case of UIUC first the MD/PhD (MSP) committee has to recommend to the medical school that you be admitted.

If the medical school gets that recommendation, then they will evaluate you as an instate applicant.

Almost all MD/PhD programs give no preference for state residency. In fact, I'm applying to 10 different programs and I no of NO MD/PhD program that favors residents of that state.
