Why is PPSV23 (Pneumovax) not administered routinely at 2 months instead of PCV13 (Prevnar)?

Polysaccharide vaccines like Pneumovax are poorly immunogenic in children < 2 years. Young children need a conjugate vaccine like Prevnar that contains immunogenic carrier proteins bound to individual pneumococcal polysaccharides in order to work.

Thank you!!
I should have paid more attention to what PPSV stands for. I wasn’t aware that it wasn’t conjugated.
