You see, here in the Netherlands, an academic surgeon spends about 1/3 of his time teaching students, 1/5 of his time with paper work and the rest of the time is divided between patient care and research.
Assuming it's the same in the US (correct me if that's not the case), how does that division look like? 4/15 patient care and 3/15 research, or vice versa? Or is more like 1/15th of one's time that's spent doing research? Enlighten me please.
