I have a question regarding California law's on pharmacist switching dosage form without contacting prescriber. I heard Texas allows pharmacist to change from tablet to capsule or tablet to oral suspension without calling doctor. Does California also allows the same practice as Texas or pharmacists have to contact the prescriber if patient requests to switch?
Thanks in advance

California Code, Business and Professions Code - BPC § 4052.5 | FindLaw

Cannot switch from one drug product to two drug products with same active ingredients (i.e., nystatin/TAC combo to separate nystatin and TAC) or long-acting to short-acting without authorization, or if different active ingredients (e.g., doxycycline monohydrate vs doxycycline hyclate)
