posting for a roommate who doesn't have an account here,

can you ask the pt questions after summarizing and before leaving the room?
she summarized, asked if the pt had any questions, and then said, "do you mind if i just check one more thing".....
and would check a pulse, or ask some hx question she forgot.
then she would say thank you and leave the room.
i have no idea about this. can anyone give any input

After you summarize you can probably ask them if there is anything else. You can re-check something but if you need to do something on the physical exam you would need to wash your hands again. Also you might lose a point in data gathering, for going out of order. Always say thank you and tell the pt everything you are doing before you do it.
