Hello everyone,

I did a search in the PharmCAS mega thread for my question but I was getting a mix of different answers.

I was hoping if I posted my question in a separate thread I would be able to gather a more direct answer.

My question is: How to correctly input repeated courses into PharmCAS coursework.

I am going to go into really close detail because I don't want to get flagged for improper coursework input by PharmCAS so bare with me.

On my transcript I got a D in BIOL-5B (4 credit hours) in the winter (quarter system). I repeated the class in spring and got a C.

Now my question is: Did I input this correctly into PHARMCAS?

Biol-5B (Winter: the first time i failed it)
Grade as it appears on the transcript: D
Number of Credit Hours:4
Special Classification: Repeated

Biol-5B (Spring: The second time retake)
Grade as it appears on the transcript: C
Number of Credit Hours:4
Special Classification: Repeated

I heard from a friend that she put R for the grade on the first failed class. That didn't make much sense to me because there would be no penalization and PharmCAS clearly states that they calculate ALL grades. This friend of mine also said that she never got her application sent back or flagged. I just want to make sure I input my grades in perfectly. And lastly for special classification do I put repeated for both? While browsing the internet for the answer I got a mix of either put it only on the first class or put it on both.

Thanks for reading this long winded post about something so simple.

You have it right. You must put the grade. You can verify by asking PharmCAS on Facebook too, they'll respond pretty promptly.

Wow! Your friend must have gotten lucky!

Just to further verify that you did indeed have it right, this is what the full PDF instructions for PharmCas say on page 27 *** You should mark all graded attempts at a course as repeated. If you Withdrew and then took
the course for a grade, the graded attempt should also be marked as repeated.
