So guys, I'm trying to prepare for the upcoming AADSAS application and have some question regarding extracurricular section. I've been taking urban dance class (hip-hop) at the recreation center for about 2 years, and I am wondering whether I should include this in the application or not. Would it be unprofessional and irrelevant to dentistry? (I've done other things like research, volunteering - both dental and non-dental related.) Appreciate any input. Thanks in advance! 🙂

put it in. first of all, you've been committed to it for 2 years. seems like u really liked it. second, it'll make you stand out against other apps with the same research/volunteering/etc... most importantly, it shows you're not a nerd 😛

so if you play the guitar....or have been taking classes in languages, one should include that as well or no? I've taken German and italian for years thinking that it may help, since in the US we are surrounded by many different races.

I'm not sure about just putting playing the guitar in as an extracurricular. That might be better off in supplemental application sections that ask for your hobbies. But if you are taking recreational guitar classes or are a part of some guitar club, then yes put it in.

As for the languagues...I suppose if they are EXTRA-CURRICULAR classes that you took, then yes. But if you took those classes and got grades for them, then no.
