So tell me if I'm on to something, or if this will come back to bite me in the butt. I'm thinking, since some schools require calc2, while some others require stats... could I just wait until second semester senior year to take one of those? By then hopefully I'd know which school I was looking to go to, so I could just pick which class to take from there. Or would the admissions office not like to see that? Would they want that class done before you came into the interview for some reason? (assuming you got one) I'm well aware this isn't a fool-proof plan, but its looking like what I'll have to do.

I guess alternatively I could take stats over the summer, and basically just wait to know if I even want to go to a school that requires calc 2.

I'd take stats now because not only is it a pre-req for a lot of pharmacy schools but it's a pre-req for quite a few upper level classes as well.

I'd recommend taking it now anyway instead of later. What if you think of more classes to take later, but don't have room because you waited to take calc or stats?

I would definitely advise you to take a stats class! I took an undergraduate stats class and then a more advanced course in pharmacy school (both were required). Without the undergrad stats course, I would have been lost (pharmacy school curriculum moves much more quickly than undergrad). When you get to journal club, you will appreciate having a strong background in stats! (This is coming from someone who just finished a master's level stats course as well).

Okay so what I'm hearing is that I should definitely take stats now. As a precautionary measure so I don't miss out on the opportunity to take another class later, and also because I'm probably going to need it later. Does the same hold true for Calc2 though? There are only a few schools that require it (I can't see it being THAT useful as a pharmacist or during pharmacy school, but I'm obviously not at that point yet), and I would rather not take it if I don't have to.

I haven't had to use any calc 2 in school so far (except for deriving kinetics equations and nuclear pharmacy equations I forgot). I think it's safer to have done it already and worry about that later.
