I am just wondering if any of these programs in NYC or its vicinity are well-reputed, and also their 'quality' in training.

MSSM urban community program
NYU beth Israel program
NYP Brooklyn hospital Center
Methodist hospital (in Brooklyn)
Maimonides Medical Center
Westchester Medical Center

Thanks!

The only one of those places that I have personal experience with is Maimonides. I spent about a total of 2.5 months on the IM service at Maimo, much of which was spent with one or more of the cardiologists. I have to say, that they were incredibly busy, and seemed to have all the bases covered: EP, echo, nuclear, and cath. The faculty were all excellent teachers and pleasant individuals in general. In short, as far as community programs in NYC go, Maimo seemed to be very strong and provided excellent training. I would have no hesitation sending my family members there for their cardio care.

Dear Chakrabs, Thanks so much for your response. I agree that Maimo has an excellent card fellowship in terms of clinical training. I visited there once and they look busy. However, I heard that they do not do much researches otherwise... Would there (or any other hospitals mentioned above) be any chance for academic cardiologist later on after graduation?

Thanks!
