Hello,

Lets say a person was asked to take a random drug test for an employer and the person declined. Aside from losing their job, would that person receive disciplinary action against his/her license for declining the test? If so, what would the implications be? Serious responses only, please. There would be no implications at all. There are no State Board requirements relating to drug testing and the practice of pharmacy. Pennsylvania is an at will state and you can get fired because they don't like people with freckles.

A follow up: If the company had a reason to suspect the person of being under the influence while working and asked for a random drug screen as a result, and the person declined to take the screen, would there still be no implications regarding the employer reporting the incident to the state pharmacy board? I really appreciate your help.

I don't think so, since there is no proof. They could still report you and the Board could open an investigation.
