So I finally finished up Qbank this morning. (My scores haven't been great but ehh...getting through all ~2300 questions is enough for me)

I'm planning on going through the IV Qbank, the full-length exam Kaplan provides, the 150 questions that the NBME provides, USMLEWorld (as much of it as possible), and if time permits maybe one or two NBME assessments.

In terms of question sources, is that a pretty good showing? Or would you guys recommend even more?

Everyone seems to rave about Robbins Review of Pathology question book for general path questions. I've used it to prepare for exams this year, and questions were hard/harder compared to my tests, and if you search past threads, people agree to this as far as step 1 goes as well.

another good source of question is kaplan qbook, but since u used qbank,it doesnt matter...
if uve got time try bss

IV Qbank will have a vignette, then five different questions on the same vignette. For example:

A 13 year old boy comes in with 2 day history of progressive fatigue and vomiting. In the last 2 months he's lost 8 pounds, and his breath smells like acetone.

What's the most likely diagnosis?

*then on the next question, the second paragraphy would be changed to something like how is it treated, or add something like an infarcting nasosinus infection and ask what is the most likely cause, etc.

If you're doing between 50's - 70's on QBank, you could/should be hitting upper 70's/low 80's on IV's, especially if you've finished/almost finished QBank. Having done an NBME though, I thought they were so so. The real exam though won't have 4-6 questions on the same clinical picture, and so you can't breeze through as fast (I could finish 50 random IV's in less than 30-35 minutes).

i heard the IV's arent that great.

robbins - tough, good questions
bss - very tough, old, outdated questions, but still useful
usmlerx - too easy, but hammers first aid into your head
usmleworld - tougher, but good

Second this post👍 . If I don't have alot of time left I would get through USMLEWORLD-->robbins-->bss and anything else that you might have.

So, does anyone think that Robbins is too easy? I mean, I'm not doing very well on my qbanks but I get almost every Robbins question right. Are some chaperted harder than others? Sometimes I feel like I can figure out the answer from the question choices. They aren't too tricky. Does anyone here know agree?

yea i find them easier than qbank. but i also don't time myself while doing the robbin questions - i jsut kind of leisurely do them when i get the time. i could see though if you were using these quesiton as like a primary question bank during school it could be difficult.

The IV qbank is a waste of time. The questions are too easy and it is nothing like the real test. I think that other things are good. Though, I think you are really disregarding the NBME assessment exams and that would be a mistake. They are by far the closing thing to the real test and are worth the money spent. You will make your own decisions so take my advice as you choose, but I did extremely well on the exam last year (98th percentile) and just sharing what worked for me.
