On Step1, there were quite a few minutiae questions that would assess very specific details (e.g. rifampin binds to the beta-subunit of DNA-dep-RNA-pol).

Are there minutiae questions like this on Step2, or is everything more straightforward?

Much more straight forward. You can throw all that molecular **** out the window and bury it in a landfill. To me it felt like easier material, but that's mostly because I get off on nailing a diagnosis and the next step in management. But yeah, there's still minutae and WTF questions like on every test that has to stratify 26,000 kids.

i have a friend who has done MBBS from india and wants to do his masters from USA?? but doesnt knw how to go bout it ryt from the start.. can u help me help him??

The most minute question I got was probably something about what enzyme deficiency is responsible for X disease.

In general, the questions are more straight forward and there aren't that many "tricks".
