question to current dental students (esp nyucd)

Hi! I got accepted into nyucd and i cant wait till it starts 😉

My question is, are there any instrunments or tools.that students need to purchase on D1? Or is everything included in instrunmrnt fee?

Im asking because my parents are dentists and it would be good if i can get any extra.instrunments from them..

also, they are willing to help me practice before school starts...so what do you recommand i start practicing? Wax ups?


Im.trying to get as much resource and help from my parents as possible before school starts ! I already asked them to collect teeth for me 😀 ...any other recommendation?

Congrats on your acceptance!
All instruments are included, but you have to return at the end of D2 year. Make sure not to lose them esp. low/high speed and curing light.
NYUCD provides with supplemental $50 for whatever you need at the dental supply.
You will have plenty time to practice wax-up during D1. Don't worry about practicing now.

The school will provide you with the instruments you need, but if you can get your hands on some extras, you might find that helpful. I had some really nice wax-up instruments that weren't part of the standard set. The problem is that you don't know what you'll find useful until you've already worked with what you were given.
