Hey guys, so I'm wondering, are you able to use ctrl+f during the mcat to search for a specific word? I seem to use this quite often for verbal reasoning when it gives me a certain word or statement so i don't have to scan through the passage manually. Does anyone who has already taken the test know if you are able to use this function? Thanks!

Unfortunately, no.

wow, that really sucks. looks like i need to start getting used to doing verbal without being able to do a quick search through the passage.

haha sure would be. but i don't see why the search function is disabled. all it's doing is allowing you to search through the text faster, so you don't have to waste time trying to find that one little word or phrase. but whatever, it is what it is.

Because that would mean those of us who are computer-literate enough to figure that sort of thing out would be at a distinct advantage! (Even if you mentioned it in the instructions, lots of people wouldn't see it and/or remember to use it during the test itself if they were less computer literate than you or me.)

HA that would be great if you could do that. i'm addicted and i did notice myself wishing i could use the find function when taking a test...

i actually find myself getting really frustrated when reading paperbacks now because i wish i could ctrlF and find a keyword...
